Before training Functional Patterns, I had decades of health challenges including debilitating back and knee pain, full body muscle spasms, muscle atrophy in my legs in spite of traditional weight training, anxiety, and an unstable knee that interfered with my love of ballroom dancing. I had begun to accept what I call “accelerated aging” as the normal aging process. In February 2023, I ended up on crutches due to a strained knee. My chiropractor suggested Functional Patterns. After six months of FP, my knee stability improved dramatically, I am able to dance 3 to 4 times a week for two hours at a time, stand at my kitchen counter without having to sit down due to lower back pain, pick both of my small dogs up at the same time and walk downstairs without having to hold onto a railing to compensate for knee instability. Complete strangers have begun to comment on my posture! I am gaining back muscle and my rib cage is lifted off my hips so I have a waistline again. I am more confident and have greatly increased my capacity to focus. Six months ago my dream of traveling to Italy to learn Argentine Tango would not have been possible with my physical limitations. I’m happy to say I will be going on this dream trip with my husband in September 2023!
